Keith Rutherford brings
years of outside law firm experience coupled with extensive in-house legal
experience to bear on solving clients’ problems.
At Wong Cabello
Mr. Rutherford’s practice has focused on patent litigation, IP
strategy, pre-litigation conflict resolution, licensing/deal negotiations, analysis
of patent portfolios both for offensive and defensive purposes,
opinion work, and prosecution management. He has managed all phases
of litigation for cases involving diverse technologies and
cases involving large amounts of produced documents, multi-patent
cases, and cases where witnesses appear through translators. He has
first-chaired and second-chaired Markman hearings in oil field and computer
electronic fields. He has handled cases where the alleged sales
base at risk exceeded a billion dollars.
Mr. Rutherford has consistently
provided positive, cost-effective results for clients in litigation.
He has negotiated numerous patent licenses and other IP related
agreements. He has managed analysis of patent portfolios ranging
from small, to those containing thousands of patents. He has favorably
resolved a number of disputes for clients without the need of litigation.
Mr. Rutherford works in a number of technology areas with particular
emphasis in electronics, computing, telecommunications, VoIP and
oilfield.
